Ancient Egypt

Guided visit for grades 1 to 3

Ostracon la souris et le chat/Ostracon kat en muis/Ostracon cat and mouse

Take your students on an enchanting journey along the banks of the Nile. Do you see the fishermen in their boats? And that blue hippopotamus? Be careful! It may be a beautiful animal, but to protect her little one, mother hippo might just capsize the boat! Beyond the swamp lies the desert, where the jackal and the vulture roam. Listen to the hissing of a crocodile, smell the fragrance of a lotus flower, and taste date beer—or maybe not... One thing is for certain: the objects in these galleries have many stories to tell about life in ancient Egypt.

Guided visit for grades 4 to 6

Modèle de maison/Model van een huis/Model of a house

Pharaohs and mummies are fascinating! But how do you recognize a king? How was a mummy made? Travel thousands of years into the past and see real mummies, sarcophagi, and the objects carefully buried with them. Learn about daily life in ancient Egypt through statues, jewellery, paintings, and everyday items. Step inside a real mastaba, decode some hieroglyphics and listen to the story of Isis and Osiris. The students won’t know where to look first!
