Wolfers Shop

⚠️ Important information – temporary closure
This gallery will be closed to the public from 23 March to 5 April 2026 (inclusive) due to restoration work on the display case lighting. Thank you for your understanding.

The Wolfers Shop, designed in 1912 by Victor Horta for the renowned Brussels jewellery house Wolfers Frères, has been meticulously reconstructed at its original scale within a museum gallery. Inside, the story of Wolfers Frères is brought to life through a selection of exceptional pieces.

In November 1912, the new building of the renowned Wolfers Frères jewelry and goldsmithing firm was inaugurated on Rue d’Arenberg in Brussels, a project designed by the celebrated Art Nouveau architect Victor Horta. In 1973, the company vacated the building, and the store’s furniture was carefully dismantled and donated to the museum by the Wolfers family.

Since 2017, the Wolfers Shop has been thoughtfully reintegrated into a museum room whose dimensions and shape closely echo those of the original space for which Horta designed the furniture. The restoration goes beyond the display cases: the original layout and color palette, as envisioned by Horta, have been faithfully recreated. In this way, the architect’s most luxurious boutique has regained the splendor that once distinguished it.
