Come to table!

Guided visit

Have you ever tried hot chocolate with pepper? Or used a hunk of bread as a plate? Dining traditions reveal a lot about culture, social status, and history. During this visit, students will examine beautifully crafted 18th-century tableware, ancient Greek wine-mixing vessels, and depictions of food in tapestries, Egyptian reliefs, and South American pottery. By learning about table manners, they will discover how food and traditions have evolved over time. A visit that’s truly a feast for the senses!
