What does it mean to be a child in the Gaza Strip?
What does it mean to grow up in a place marked by conflict every day? Where learning, play, and childhood itself are under constant strain? Where dreams must give way to survival?
A Question Mark Hangs Over Gaza is a photographic exhibition documenting the daily reality of children in the Gaza Strip, captured by those who know them best.
The eyes of Gaza
International journalists do not have free access to the Gaza Strip. That is why it is Palestinian photographers and videographers who tell these stories. They are the eyes of their community, amplifying its voices. Their images are at the heart of this exhibition.
Sound also plays a central role alongside the photographs. All the ambient sounds you hear come directly from Gaza. Where recordings were missing or damaged, they were carefully reconstructed to recreate the atmosphere as authentically as possible. The result is a powerful soundscape that takes you into the streets, homes, and shelters of Gaza.
Why you shouldn’t miss it
This exhibition tells stories of resilience and sorrow, but also of hope. It calls for an urgent ceasefire and a just world for all children in the region. The images and sounds from Gaza bring you closer to a reality that may seem far away, but that concerns us all.
Let yourself be moved by these stories. Learn about what is happening in Gaza. And above all: show that the children there are not forgotten.
