Museum Night Fever returns for its 18th edition! Yes, Brussels’ wildest museum night has finally come of age – mark your calendars! No fewer than 34 museums will open their doors from 19:00 until 01:00, offering an evening full of discoveries and surprising you with original, creative, and artistic atmospheres.

At the Art & History Museum, discover the new galleries dedicated to Belgian Art Nouveau and Art Deco, and immerse yourself in centuries of European decorative arts, from Gothic to Renaissance, from Baroque to the 19th century. Sixty illustration and comic arts students from LUCA School of Arts (Ghent) will present works inspired by the collection and welcome you into their open studio. Also on the programme: a stylish set by DJ Blue Flamingo, live music by Alice Georges Perez, and guided tours.

Programme

Open studio - continuously from 19:00 to midnight

This autumn, bachelor’s students in Illustration at LUCA School of Arts Ghent are drawing inspiration from the museum’s collections and its magnificent building. A single clay figurine, a woven mask, or even a comb can conceal an entire world of stories that spark the imagination.

During Museum Night Fever, the students will present a preview of their visual research. For one evening, the Grand Narthex will be transformed into an open studio where museum pieces come to life as new creations. Come along to watch, listen, draw, and even try out an “image generator” - and discover how heritage can ignite your imagination, too!

DJ Blue Flamingo – 19:00–20:00, 20:30–21:30, 22:00–23:00

Ziya Ertekin, better known as Blue Flamingo, is a Rotterdam-based DJ and avid collector of 78 rpm records. Step into the groove and let him take you on a musical journey through the roaring interwar years, with vibes straight from the eras of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. Dancing is encouraged!

Alice George Perez - 23:00

Singer-songwriter Alice George Perez offers a unique blend of chamber folk and avant-pop, with lyrics rich in imagery, humor, and playful melancholy. Her new album will be released on October 17, one day before her live set at the Museum!
