Baby Art Day I Tapis PLEIN Baby!

A day filled with fun, experimenting and discovery! This edition we explore the impressive tapestry collection of the Art & history Museum.

With special guest: Theater De Spiegel! Who will bring their show Curiosa as well as their artistic and creative playground CABAN. 

Drop-in workshops

0-3 year olds
  • Pompon pool.  Jump in! And if you feel like it, why not add a few colourful pompons of your own.
  • The softest barefoot trail. Take off your shoes and socks: what do you feel? 
  • Let's felt together. The wool goes in the soapy water: splishy splashy, splishy splashy. The wool goes on the carpet: rubbedy rub, rubbedy rub.
  • A  tapestry to nibble on. Did you see the grapes? Or maybe you spotted the pear, or a peach? Taste the fruit as if it had come straight out of the tapestry!

  • Paper weaving. Over and under, over and under, ... What pattern will you create? 
  • Bordure verdure. Choose a stencil and a colour, then let's work together to create a giant, fabulous tapestry border!

Settle down in front of a tapestry and use the games and objects provided to explore it together.

With a discovery booklet for older brothers and sisters as well as the curious toddler.

Rest, catch up, play and read aloud in the play café.

Tips and tricks!

  • Water is used for felting so bringing a change of clothes might be a good idea. 
  •  Roomy push-chair parking inside, as well as a space for changing your little one. 
  • Don't be put off by the steep stairs by the entrance: push-chair shuttle provided!
  • In the play café you will find free drinking water and a microwave oven. Drinks and snacks are available for parents and +3 year olds. 

Practical information

You can either choose to visit from 10.30 to 13.00, or from 14.00 to 16.30. During this timeslot you are free to participate in all activities and you do not need to register. The museum doors open at 10.00 and close at 17.00. You will have plenty of time to explore the rest of the museum if you so choose and to begin and end your visit to the collections and/or exhibition. 

A valid ticket grants all-day access to the museum galleries. For a small surplus you can also visit the exhibition Before Time Began. 

€ 13 kangaroo ticket (1 child + 1 parent), includes Tapis PLEIN Baby (without expo Before Time Began)
€ 17 kangaroo ticket (1 child + 1 parent), includes Tapis PLEIN Baby (with expo Before Time Began)
+ € 5 per additional child
Additional adults take a gallery ticket with or without exhibition at the usual rates: € 10 / 8 (galleries) or € 16 / 12 (galleries+ expo)
