Collections
The collections of this library are associated with the Department of Antiquity, and the library itself is subdivided into three large sections: Egypt (Pre-Pharaonic and Pharaonic Egypt, papyrology, and Coptic studies); the Old Near East (Assyria and Iran); and Classical Antiquity (Greece, Etruria, and Rome).
Each year, the libraries are augmented with gifts from the Georges Dossin Assyriological Centre and the Queen Elisabeth Egyptological Society.

To avoid waiting time, we recommend that you send, along with your appointment request, a list of the materials you wish to consult.
All materials must be consulted in the reading room and cannot be borrowed. We offer the possibility of borrowing publications through interlibrary loan - please contact the library of your institution.
Photocopies can be made with prior approval from the library staff. Publications pre-dating 1900 cannot be photocopied.
