History lessons boring? Not at the Art & History Museum! A guide and four virtual Romans - yes, they even speak Latin! - are ready to help students explore the world of the Romans. The renovated model of Rome is an ideal starting point to place the objects and sculptures in the spacious galleries into context. Through luxurious mosaics from Apamea (Syria), a fresco from Pompeii, bronze and marble emperor portraits and depictions of gods, tombstones, and everyday objects, students gain insight into the lives of both the powerful and ordinary people, while discovering the art, culture, and cultural legacy of this great empire.

• Roman Sculpture
  Roman streets and homes were filled with statues. In the galleries, explore the Roman figure in 3D, focusing on proportions, stylistic development, and the connection with Greek sculpture and ideals of beauty. In the Atelier, you’ll work with clay and sculpting techniques yourself.
• The Rome STEaM Challenge
  Aqueducts, baths, insulae, temples… the eternal city of Rome needed skilled engineers! Take part in the Rome STEaM Challenge and build alongside us in the Atelier.
