Ancient Egypt
Guided tour for 1st - 3rd grade

Embark on a magical journey along the banks of the Nile. Can you see the fishermen in their little boat? And that blue hippopotamus? Watch out! She may look calm, but to protect her calf, she might just tip the boat over. Beyond the marsh lies the desert, home to the jackal and the vulture. Hear the hiss of a crocodile, smell a lotus flower, and maybe even taste some date beer… or maybe not. One thing is certain: the objects in these galleries have plenty to tell you about life in Ancient Egypt.
Choose an Atelier+ (from 3rd Kindergarten)
After visiting the museum galleries, you’ll know more about life along the Nile. In the Atelier, you will create a paper Nile landscape together: choosing, tearing, drawing, gluing, and folding!
Ancient Egypt
Guided tour for 3rd to 6th grade

Pharaohs and mummies are really exciting. But how can you recognize the king, and how is a mummy made? The guide tells stories to help you understand, shows students how to observe carefully, and teaches the basics of hieroglyphs. Games and activities support your observations of statues, reliefs, gods, papyri, canopic jars, (funerary) furniture, and jewelry.
Choose an Atelier+?
During the gallery visit, you discovered that the Egyptians didn’t just live in the present - they also believed in an afterlife. In the Atelier, you will shape and decorate your own amulet, ensuring protection and good luck, just as the Egyptians believed.
