Sanggam stoneware
The collection of Korean art is one of the smaller collections in the museum and consists primarily of ceramics. It spans the Three Kingdoms period (1st – 7th century), the Unified Silla period (668–935), the Koryo Dynasty (918–1392), and the Choson Dynasty (1392–1910). Among the highlights is the highly prized Sanggam stoneware from the Koryo Dynasty - celadon with inlaid white and black clay - which exemplifies the distinct identity of Korean art, situated between Chinese and Japanese traditions.
