Future Egyptologists, archaeologists, Assyriologists, historians, teachers, or artists: there’s something for everyone in the Ancient Egypt department. A guide will take you on a chronological or thematic journey, from the Predynastic period through the Pharaonic eras to the Roman and early Christian periods. You’ll see statues of gods and pharaohs, reliefs, tomb art in a mastaba, hieroglyphs on papyrus, wood, and stone, explore the afterlife and daily life … the entire society is brought to life, highlighting its development over more than three millennia. For future teachers, the tour includes a pedagogical and educational component.
