In addition to its historical art collections, the Art & History Museum also offers the possibility of organising private events such as seminars, receptions, lectures, press conferences, dinners, colloquia and other events in a unique historical setting. It is possible to combine your event with a guided tour of one of the museums or one of the temporary exhibitions, if desired.
Reception rooms
The Great Narthex can accommodate up to 600 people for receptions. For dinners, there is room for 450 people. You can organise a reception for about 400 people in the gallery on the second floor. The Great Narthex is architecturally one of the most beautiful rooms in the museum. The iron roof truss with stained glass windows leaves an unforgettable impression. The walls of the room are lined with paintings.
The Apamea room can accommodate up to 250 people for receptions. The impressive reconstruction of one of the porticoes of the great colonnade of Apamea (Syria,) characterises this room. The reconstruction commemorates the Belgian archaeological missions to the site since 1930. From the room, you can see the large hunting mosaic from the residence of the governor of Syria Secunda (5th-6th century).
The cloister can accommodate up to 120 people for receptions or dinners. The room opens onto a green courtyard and contains pre-Romanesque and Romanesque stone sculptures from our main production centres. The 12th-century baptismal fonts are particularly spectacular.
